Well, its-a 1 for the money, 2 for the show, 3 to get ready ... now, go, CJ, go!

WHAT would you get if you put one of KL's hottest deejays, Sasi the Don, Malaysia's top country group Os Pombos and groovy latin rock specialist La Viva together? Why, the opening night of PJ's latest oasis - Ceejay's Place - located at 27-29 Jalan 11/2, its entrance just opposite University Hospital, Petaling Jaya, of course.
CeeJay's Place opens tomorrow (that's Friday April 17, 2009) and we hear that the action begins at whatever time you get there after work and the opening offer is three jugs of beer for the price of two at RM33 per jug, making it a cold RM66 for three jugs of the frothy and some pretty hot vindaloo to go with it.
Christopher Joseph who jukes the joint says that he's going to give every pubowner in PJ one for the money, two for the show once things get going.
The new joint will showcase live entertainment every night and so far, CeeJay's lights are on Carlsberg Top of the Pubs winners Pieces of April with Tom Rizal Jones on Sunday, Colin Jansen (Monday), Alvin Fletcher (Tuesday), Jason Noa’s Retro Edge (Wednesday), wild rockers Bala and and Jerry Felix (Thursday), Os Pombos (Friday), and a new setup called Jay’s Cee Band with Alvin (guitar), Clinton Fernandez (keyboards), Matthew Charles (bass) and Sivam (drums) on Saturday nights.
Other featured acts would include Lil’G from Raga Club Mix on Wednesdays and Thursdays, every week, and DJ Skeletor from the Hits FM Music division on Saturdays.
Pass the word around and stay tuned for more. If you need help for your gigs, email themusicdetective@gmail.com. Keep the music live!

  4. Mr Anonymous, thank you for coming to ceejay's on April 17 for the opening and since you were there you would have notice the amount of people there. The beer was not watered down but it did not have Beer Gas, the reason this happen is when the beer pump keeps pouring your favourite drink non stop. What would you know about beers? I am sad to know a person who came for the opening could say the place was seedy and scary, maybe from out side you may think like that but you open the door u see the best place in town and if you think that night was a wash out my god you dont know how to enjoy an evening with the BEST MUSIC PEOPLE in town. Ladies if you think this person knows the place best and his remarks are correct please walk into CEEJAYS and find out for yourself. It is the best and fun pub in P J to be in. Mr Anonymous you are still welcome and i will buy you a fresh glass of Juice since you wont know the taste of a proper glass of beer that would enslave your throat........I am Ceejay or Chris

  5. Wellll, there you go. Mr Anonymous getting a piece of CJ's mind about watered down beers on opening night.

Seedy and scary? We certainly think not, having seen many a lady coming out there, alone, in pairs and traces even, and leaving with a smile.

The best musis people around? Hmmmmm, let's see how long your balls rolling, Mr CJ. There are a few other places like No Black Tie, Bangkok Jazz, GrooveJunction, Waikiki and Backyard that serve some pretty good music, too, you know.

But, one thing for sure. The people at TheMusicDetective all agree that it's been great so far, especially considering that you're the only club so far to bring in Happy Hours music, with Brendan performing with Amanda from 7-9pm on Wednesdays.

It's good for the early regulars and also good for young artistes like Brendan to show their talent and learn the ropes.

    Keep it up, man!

Hey! One other thing. Why don't you anonymous commentators use your real names. Yeah, I can hear you going: "So, why use The Music Detective mask???

Well, because we dont want to be seen at these places and be tempted to have free drinks in return for free blogspace. That's why!

Cheers and keep the music live!
